Appearance: Very recognizable by its dark brown appearance with black stripes. Sapwood is gray or pale yellow.
Properties: Wenge has a medium-to-coarse texture, straight grain. Very dense and durable wood.
Finishing: Not the most finish-friendly of woods out there because of its oily surface and porous nature; thus, will usually require a pore filler.
Applications: Flooring, furniture, cabinets, millwork.
