Appearance: Yellowish white sapwood. Heartwood is dark brown to black, usually with alternating black & white stripes. Straight grain, coarse texture.

Properties: Oily wood. Can be challenging on tools as it can blunt cutting edges. Has very good dimensional stability. Hard and dense. Very durable, resistant to termites.

Finishing: Due to Wenge’s porous nature, it is highly recommended to fill the pores with a filler before finishing.

Applications: Flooring, paneling, furniture, veneer, stairs, moldings, millwork.
